So today i had the awesome opportunity of getting to see Obama speak at JMU.  It was really thrilling to see all these people coming out to see him.  Even though i know most people who were there did not care enough about politics to really wait in line for 4 hours for the possibility of seeing him it was still inspiring to see everyone there to see him.  As a political science major it was thrilling for me to be in the Convo Center.  Being there and seeing everyone doing their job reminded me why I decided to major in political science and why I want to be involved in politics.  I think that even people who love politics sometimes get caught up in all the petty aspects of the campaign like what each candidate is wearing and unnecessary information in order to make a decision.  Attending a huge political event like that though brings back the idea of traditional politics.  I think it is great to have the opportunity to step back from the skewed views of the media and to actually see something political in person is priceless.
